It's time to pack again

John pretty much left his suitcase sitting there since the last trip, so he's a lot closer to being ready. We are headed to TX to exchange goods and pick up my nephew, so he can "see" the Wonders of NM-green chile and dust ;)

I am going to concentrate on the relaxation of the journey and just see what happens-I am hoping shopping, movies and a little history.

Tendencies to not do what needs to be done

You know you always need to be looking for something (tearing through boxes and piles of paper) when someone else is desperately needing to sleep. My quiet tasks were:

  1. Finding out about scary extra charges on cell phone bill (maybe it's even better that we are planning on changing)
  2. Deleting email, so standard
  3. Phone calls of slightly shorter length (again who knows when some of these Voice charges are stacking up)
  4. Confirming hotel reservations (this has been a hotel spring and summer and by far Embassy Suites is the winner!)
  5. Word Whomp (with the typing sounds off of course)
  6. Thinking about loose papers to turn into web documents and other storage means
  7. Mom call
  8. Drinking water, quiet and healthy
  9. Waking sleeper up when you realize their alarm must not have gone off
  10. Looking for piece of paper in the madness and having no luck!

My tendencies need to get kicked out-not kick-started. I guess I'll blame my foot for slowing my progress literally and figuratively, so to bed and hope for tomorrow.

Where I go for inspiration

http://www.getorganizednow.com/

Everything is always perfect, like the 6 things for organization:
3 ring binders
baskets
portable file folders
plastic storage totes
notebooks
shelves

I have been attempting to put loose recipes in a binder, so I'll make that task #1.
I have been thinking of putting a basket by the phone, task #2.
And I have totally been wanting file folders for our desk and who knows where else, so task #3.

Although my tasks 1-3 will wait until I get the guest room semi-ready, so off to Alpha Task #1.

blue crate of ancient paper

Really, tax returns from 1993? Hello, we have a winner to get rid of. The only problem is there's that whole shred dilemma-buy one, tote to office, buy one that is "safe" for all humans and pets? Currently, I tote to the office, but that's a lot of organization. By now, I think I can predict, I can't keep the toting up-I have managed to bring the slick paper in though for at least a week +

Consider this re shredder:

it could be the law for your household, hopefully not ours.

Foot health = project #29

I went to my appt on FRI morning and the doctor said my foot was looking good (even the tuning fork didn't hurt), BUT I still needed to clomp around in the black boot of annoyance. I am happy not to be in a cast, but I hate the bootie and the ace bandage and the tape and on and on. I will continue to baby it, and hope that it really feels 100 % soon.

After being on semi-bedrest for almost a week (since last FRI) I may have done a bit too much yesterday, because the back of my foot was hurting The doctor opined that it was probably a touch of tendinitis from the strain-I love trading owies.

Really, I am still going to blame the heck out of the Police-their concert is why I was traveling and walking around and hopping around so much.

I know, I should be happier and not so grumpy. My mood was put into annoyance overdrive when I went to McD's for a celebratory egg product. First someone tried to nail me as they were swinging wide in the drive-thru and then a truck (and I know if I want my egg product someone needs to deliver it, but not in the only lane left in the parking lot!), so of course I left McD's and went to our local donut/burrito establishment.

Well, with all of the excitement done, I guess I could get back to work. Work being all of the other projected items at home and out and about.

I was very proud of going to aqua aerobics, but hopefully that doesn't cause more foot trauma. Also proud of fridge clearing out for a good lunch cause ;)

Now if I could only make croutons out of dead bagels, that would be an accomplishment. There's always SUN.

The build-up

It could be the clothes pile, but I think it refers to my stressing about work. If I build something up to be difficult then my logic tells me it won't actually be. So my build-up was lack of sleep, tossing and turning, and really it was nothing. If I had to say that my disorganized ways are working on two levels now. It's possible that the homefront is on better terms. I hope that doesn't only mean one zone will click at a time. I'll let the weekend work on motivation.

Happiness is

a full bag of trash. Bad laptop typist that I am, I totally lost this post, so keeping it short. I hope the holiday brings enthusiasm and refreshment for all + it's not too far until Labor Day :) After recuperating from my possibly stress-fractured foot, I am ready to be back at work, or at least deleting work emails ;)

The trash filling refers to being able to get some space by the side of the bed. I thoroughly enjoyed the Clean House special about the messiest, because I know we aren't the messiest, but sometimes . . . .

Next project, Christmas in July, which will use stamps + odd items around the house.

To do, done

I also used one of the Mp3 players, so that should be noted for listing purposes. Electronics around the house, which should get more use:
  1. mp3 players I & II
  2. cell phone updating
  3. camera, but that's getting there
  4. PS2 as game unit
  5. PS1 for nostalgia
  6. Gameboy

Before this turns into a burglary to do, that's enough. How many toys can we have and not take full-advantage of, hm?

Welcome to July

I can't believe it's a new month-my time being wrapped up in ace bandage must have stopped my watching of the calendar. The bandage is for the possibly stress-fractured foot and so pampering and stir crazyness has begun. The ace bandage state has allowed me to:
  1. Sweep up all manner of things from the carpet.
  2. Do dishes in a semi-yogic leg crossed state, so as not to put weight on the "bad" foot.
  3. Read a lot of magazines.
  4. Listen to a book, fall asleep during its lulling tones and oops, not have a clue what happened in book.
  5. Clean silver jewelry.

It has not allowed me to:

  1. Read actual books-too long.
  2. Write letters.
  3. Send off for Transformers codes from Pepsi.
  4. Save money, too much online shopping.
  5. Do laundry, bad or good?

I didn't watch too much either, so I must have been sleeping a lot in between snack attacks.

Most amazingly, from the master list, I did use my digital camera. I took pictures of my shoes, but still photos were made. The only problem, I can't find the USB to hook them up to the computer, so that the world can see my shoes, sigh!

One step at a time, or hop as the ace-bandaged foot allows.
