I am shocked to realize how long I have been away from my list here. Of course, this isn't a total surprise when I see all of the chaos around me. Somehow Spring just sprung and I didn't catch up to it. Maybe summer will be better.
So far today, and hence the title, I attempted some breakfast making: boiled eggs. To be honest, I used the web, my memory of Mom's description + how Grandpa used to do + my Bittman cookbook to make the damn things and they were really okay in the yolk department, but saints preserve us the peeling. I think I'm still done in from that part alone.
So, I need to grasp the difficulty and get going.

i try to peel right after cooking, while running the eggs under cold water. that usually works, but there are some days where i peel and peel and peel and am left with something the size of my thumb. mocking the egg salad bowl.
